BASF announced that it has acquired the polymers business of the the Brazilian the Mazzaferro Group of polyamide (PA). BASF is further strengthening its engineering plastics and polyamide polymers market share in South America. But the two companies have agreed not to disclose financial details of the transaction.
The deal includes PA 6 production facilities venues, as well as in the metropolitan area of Sao Paulo S? O Bernardo do Campo, engineering plastics compounds business. This polymerization plant has about 20,000 tons of annual production capacity. Approximately 100 employees will transfer to BASF.
mazzaferro monofilament fishing equipment and household products business is not included in the transaction, these operations will continue operating in Diadema and production base in Sao Paulo. The deal still needs to get approval from the Brazilian authorities.
